Terms of Use

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of us.topnews.oncehit.net (the "Site"), operated by OnceTopNews, part of the Once Hit family of sites ("we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Site shows data about news coverage: how many outlets are covering a story, how much it is being watched on YouTube, how it is spreading on Bluesky, and similar measures. We do not publish news articles. Headlines and links point to the original outlets, which are responsible for their own content. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any news outlet, YouTube, Google, or Bluesky unless we say so.

2. Automatically generated content

Event names, groupings, rankings, and statistics on the Site are generated automatically by software from public headlines and public counts. They are summaries of coverage, not statements of fact about any person or organization, and they may contain errors. If you believe something on the Site is inaccurate, contact us at oncehit.service@gmail.com and we will review it.

3. Accounts

You can use the Site without an account. Reader features (such as points, badges, and recommendations) require signing in with OnceAccount, which has its own terms. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Points, badges, and recommendations

Points, levels, and badges are features of the Site. They have no cash value, cannot be purchased, sold, or transferred, and cannot be exchanged for money or anything else of value. We may change how they work, or discontinue them, at any time. Reader reactions and recommendations appear only in the reader sections of the Site and do not affect the news data rankings.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. YouTube content

The Site uses YouTube API Services and displays YouTube video information and players. By viewing YouTube content on the Site, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). View counts and other YouTube figures come from YouTube; any figures we calculate from them (such as growth rates) are our own and are not official YouTube statistics.

7. Intellectual property

The Site's design, software, and the data compilations we create belong to us. Headlines, logos, and video information belong to their respective owners and are shown to identify and link to the original source. If you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to oncehit.service@gmail.com identifying the material and your rights in it.

8. Links to other sites

The Site links to news outlets and other websites that we don't control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The data on the Site is for general information only and is not professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Site.

11. Changes and termination

We may change these Terms by posting the updated version on the Site; continued use after the change means you accept it. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.

OnceTopNews doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, so there's nothing to turn on or off here.

Our regular pages don't set cookies. Your account page, sign-in, and embedded widgets use a session cookie and a security cookie that expire after 120 minutes. The Site needs them to work.

We also keep a few things in your browser's local storage, such as your sign-in token, the reactions you've tapped, and your display settings. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Because we don't sell or share personal information, a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to change here. If that ever changes, we'll treat it as a request to opt out.
